Direct Marketing Online

Direct marketing is something that is hardly new to us. Salesman distributing leaflets, advertisements on television and receiving various letters regarding promotions are something everyone is familiarly sick of. Direct marketing online is also hardly a novel concept though we have seen its use been tremendously expanded in the recent past, to the extent that direct marketing online has now more or less replaced all other forms of direct marketing as the most significant marketing tool of the new world.

A majority of marketers seem to prefer direct marketing online as against traditional methods of marketing. One very obvious reason would be the fact that direct marketing online is relatively cheaper. Marketers also seem to be of the opinion that online direct marketing is easier to be carefully targeted to the ‘niche market’ making it a more effective and sophisticated tool. With the expansion of various social networks and with widespread use of internet in general becoming a social trend, there is even greater incentive for marketers to use this method for marketing purposes.

However, not everyone seems to be of the same opinion regarding the effectiveness of direct marketing online. Critiques of the concept state that it is not prudent to directly use the internet for marketing but on contrary they are of the view that, it should be used only in order to paint a better image of the product and of the company. They especially frown on the use of social networks for marketing purposes.

Well like it or not direct marketing online seems to be here to stay. It becomes the glaring truth in front of your very own eyes simply when you open your email inbox in the morning everyday. Marketing methods like spam has become a regular nuisance. It is doubtful whether this type of ‘carpet bombing’ style direct marketing online campaigns are effective but unfortunately companies seem to be hell bent on pursuing it.

The very concept of direct marketing online since recently seems to be entwined with words such as ‘permission based.’ One does not need the IQ of Einstein to grasp the meaning of the word and it should be noted by marketers that ‘permission based’ direct marketing online campaigns are likely to be more effective.

It could be most effective if direct marketing online is used as a part of an integrated marketing campaign used with various other direct marketing tools that would help reap the full benefits of this complex marketing concept.

Internet Advertising Business

Posted by Clive | Internet Marketing | Tuesday 27 October 2009 11:10 pm

With the birth of the Internet, the face of advertising has changed for ever. Some experts even say that advertising has just gone out of the infancy and is now growing towards maturity. The re-orientation of the marketer towards a more profitable and economic advertising environment such as the Internet, has also led to the appearance and development of Internet advertising business solutions. There are now companies that deal only in Internet marketing and advertising strategies providing professional services to small and large businesses that need online exposure and market targeting. And for now, innovation is the key factor that best defines the advertising models based on Internet technologies.

What can an Internet advertising business service do for a company? Well, it all begins with market segmentation and targeting the right customers. Depending on the nature of the products that will be promoted, the Internet advertising experts may suggest geo-targeting, fragmented targeting, age or even gender targeting. Thus, a line of women’s cosmetic products will follow the indicators and the specificity of the gender, using strategies that can only be applied to female consumers. The same thing will happen with weight lifting or cage fighting items that are promoted by targeting the male market sector first and foremost.

But these are just two minor examples of the multitude of items that are promoted and sold on the Internet. Thus, the mission of an Internet advertising business is a very complex and serious one, requiring a high level of responsibility and involvement. Any company that aims at Internet advertising and wants to hire a company for the product promotion, should have a separate budget available for investments. The online advertising model is very lucrative because it provides access to highly interested web searchers. All the work models designed by an Internet advertising business, will thus revolve around the potential query that a web surfer will make on a certain search engine.

It is also important to check whether you will need the constant services of an Internet advertising business or you just have to rely on professional help occasionally. Sign a contract according to your needs but not before reviewing all the clauses and making sure that you understand and accept everything that is stipulated in it. A good Internet advertising business model is something to stick to and improve constantly in order to stay updated with the market demands and the fluctuations of the Internet.
